Boeing and Airbus are the two largest commercial aircraft manufacturers in the world. Historically, these two companies have competed against each other in almost every single aircraft category, includingnarrowbody twinjets and long-haul widebodies. Boeing developed the legendary 747 in the late 1960s, which was the first widebody aircraft and changed the commercial aviation industry. This allowed commercial airlines to fly increasingly long-haul routes with a higher capacity.
