While other US legacy carriers have sought to ensure inflight entertainment is present on all their mainline aircraft, American Airlines has moved forward with more of an austerity approach. Indeed, we’ve seen a reduction of seatback entertainment across much of the fleet operating domestic services. Most recently, the carrier opted to remove seatback screens from its A319s in its latest retrofit program. These jets were the carrier’s final short-to-medium haul aircraft equipped with the systems.
