Baltic Hub breaks rail records in July

The Baltic Hub terminal in the Gdańsk port has broken records in “nearly every area of […] operations” in July. That also includes rail, where it processed a record amount of TEU.
The Baltic Hub rail siding handled 66,895 TEU, which is the best monthly result in the history of the terminal. It exceeded the previous record from October 2024 by 3,500 TEU. “This proves the strength of our infrastructure and the continued trust of our customers”, the terminal commented on LinkedIn.

The terminal also credits its four RMG cranes, seven 750-metre rail tracks and OCR system for the success.

The successful month of July for rail in the Baltic Hub is in line with broader trends in Polish rail freight. The share of intermodal traffic in the sector is growing, reaching a record high in Q1 2025.

Besides rail, the Baltic Hub also reached a new record level of transshipments at 244,752 TEU, which corresponds to 141,113 containers. It also handled more containers than in any previous month (93,909) and processed a record amount of trucks (66,825). The previous records for those two categories were set in June.
