With several variants, the Tupolev Tu-95, known as the “Bear,” evolved from several earlier Tupolev family projects. The heavy bomber and missile platform military aircraft was mainly known for conducting special operations and proved to be a common plane flying over the Pacific throughout the decades involving the Cold War.
