Why Don’t Any US Airlines Fly To Antarctica?

The United States has its research station in Antarctica, known as McMurdo Station. The community is the largest on the frozen continent, supporting up to 1,500 permanent residents. This population fluctuates seasonally, where it decreases to around just a few hundred people through the Antarctic night. Several well-known airlines operate flights to and from Antarctica (on a charter basis), such as Qantas,HiFly, and more recently, Norse Atlantic. However, no US airline flies there.
