The International Airlines Group – owners of British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus – seems to be the ideal candidate to purchase a stake in TAP Air Portugal. The Portuguese flag carrier is on the market, up for grabs by Europe’s big airline groups (although anyone interested can put their name in the hat, as did Turkish Airlines). All three groups, namely Lufthansa, Air France-KLM and IAG have expressed their interest. It’s game on.
