DB Cargo Hungària starts expansion of terminal in Gyor for Audi service

The Hungarian rail freight branch of Deutsche Bahn kicked off the upgrade project of a terminal in Gyor, near the border with Slovakia. The terminal, managed by DB Cargo Hungària mostly serves Audi’s logistics services between Hungary and Germany.
The terminal will get 120 metres of additional tracks, a new maintenance pit for locomotives and wagons and around 1,000 square metres of maintenance area. The terminal expansion should be completed by the end of this year, DB Cargo Hungària said on LinkedIn. The project is being carried out in cooperation with Mérnök-Mátrix, SZI-GEO and Betonsped.

The relationship between DB Cargo Hungària and Audi in Gyor started already in 2001. The rail company operates the Railport terminal Gyor Industrial Park. Recently, a service to connect Audi’s Gyor facility with the German ones in Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt was launched in cooperation with Helrom.
