Please don’t bring e-bikes, e-scooters and e-skateboards on board Sydney Trains services. Some lithium batteries can pose a fire risk.
This is really a bad change many take their scotters on trains to get around the city and leave back to their suburb at the end of the day. Taking their alternative transport option on the train is a very improtant part of their daily or weekly travel way of working.
gig economy workers who delvier your goods will be grossly affected by this chamnge pushing many of them out of the city and workable areas ensuring you will not receive your delivery any time soon.
It is not all e products that the less reputable kind from overseas manufacturers.
Gross over reaction to ary small number of incidents on a train, in fact I think 1.
Many workers rely on the ability to take their e scooters and bikes on the trains to get to their place of work. This is a terrible outcome for them.
On V/Line train the WC of trains already got sign cautioning people not charge their E scooters, ECycles, Moblies and Laptop on the power sockets as the fluctation power supply in the train could cause spikes damaging them or worse fire if the battery overloads……
Anyway people still use them on on board but it if something goes wrong with their device they can’t sue the operator as they were advised not to use them for charging the batterys!!!
