Delta Air Lines in Second Near Miss: Runway Chaos at Mexico City Airport

Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) in Mexico City was the site of a near miss yesterday morning between anAeromexico Connect Embraer E190 and a Delta Air Lines Boeing 737-800. Reports suggest that, due to conflicting clearances, the former was cleared to land on the same runway as the latter was departing from, resulting in a loss of separation between the two narrowbody twinjet aircraft.
