In 50 years of operational service, the Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon – better known as Viper – has almost always had a well-trained human in the cockpit across 25 nations as of April 2024, and at one point 27 nations – and that number will almost certainly be reached again. However, some US Air Force F-16s will be tested to fly autonomously.

July 25th, 2024. This was the historic day that Southwest announced the end of ‘open’ seating in exchange for assigned seating. The considerable change, to be operational next year, is about attracting more passengers and benefiting from their additional revenue. Like other carriers, it will also generate significant revenue by enabling passengers to pick particular seats and extra legroom options. While this was understandably the most notable news for the airline, even picked up by mainstream media, it was less publicized that the airlines first overnight flights have been loaded.
