Emirates has flown to Perth International Airport for 23 years. Influenced by the Western Australian Government’s Aviation Recovery Fund, frequencies returned to twice-daily in December 2024. However, the latest plan sees the return of a daily service in the upcoming northern winter (summer Down Under). This change will reduce Emirates’ competitiveness and market share in Perth, but it will improve its overall performance.

On April 3rd, Emirates reintroduced another Airbus A380 to service. The specific airframe was A6-EDF, which is about 19 years old and nearly double the average age of the carrier’s superjumbos. Its return to service saw an initial round-trip service between Dubai and Cairo. While it was the seventh A380 ever to be built, it was the sixth A380 delivered to the Gulf carrier; those that arrived sooner have since been retired or stored.
