The Boeing 727 is one of Boeing’s most distinctive creations, featuring a high T-shaped tail and rear engine to complement its two wing-mounted engines. It was also a highly versatile aircraft well-suited to short and medium-haul routes and will go down as one of the planemaker’s most commercially successful planes. As Boeing’s only trijet design, it managed over 1,800 deliveries, including both passenger and freighter versions.
