French operator Europorte, part of the Getlink group, is opening a subsidiary in Germany: Europorte Deutschland. The group already operates services to Dillingen, Leuna, Ludwigshafen, Marl, Münchsmünster and Völklingen.
“Europorte already generates over 40% of its revenue in Germany and Belgium”, underlined Raphaël Doutrebente, CEO of the company, on LinkedIn. The move comes after a positive 2024, which saw Europorte increasing its revenue by 12%.
Europorte group
Europorte France, formerly Europorte 2, was the first private rail freight operator established in France, getting its license in 2004. The company’s first experience with Germany came already in 2005. The company further internationalised in 2019 when it started activities in Belgium.
Europorte Channel operates rail freight services across the Channel Tunnel, connecting France and England. The third member of the Europorte group is Socorail, which provides services in ports and other operational sites.
