The Airbus A220 is a departure from the company's usual aircraft. It is the first five-abreast airliner the manufacturer has ever produced. The cockpit of the A220 has a feature that is present on only one other Airbus airliner: an escape hatch.

Due to how shareholders voted, the Supervisory Board decided to dismiss the current Chairman of the Board, Martin Gauss, as of April 7th.
