The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is “the” Western fifth-generation fighter jet. It is widely considered the most advanced and most capable fighter jet flying today and is by far the most produced and most popular fifth-generation fighter jet in service. The F-22 Raptor is an advanced air dominance fighter jet that is considered the best in that role. However, only 187 production units were delivered, and it was never exported. It is only operated by the US Air Force.
