The Airbus A380 is an aircraft designed mostly for an aviation world that never really existed. The massive aircraft, the world’s only fully double-decker passenger jet, was intended to serve a world of increased airport congestion where airlines started looking to operate as many seats as possible using their landing slots. This jet was designed to serve routes that were extremely high-demand, and it was targeted directly at major network carriers. Ultimately, the jet proved too difficult for many airlines to fill, leading to massive losses on the flights they operated using the type.
