Earlier this week, a British Airways Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flight from London Heathrow Airport to Chennai International Airport was forced to turn back to Heathrow and dump fuel for around an hour before landing safely back in the UK capital. Shortly after takeoff, the flight crew recognized a technical problem with the aircraft’s flaps and ultimately made the decision to dump fuel and divert back to the departure airport.
