European planemaker Airbus developed the long-range, twin-engine Airbus A350 widebody aircraft in 2004, hot off the heels of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft, which drew inspiration from many components of the Airbus A330, included advanced composite wings, winglets, and more fuel-efficient engines. The first-ever prototype of the A350 took flight on June 14, 2013, celebrating 12 years this June.
