The past weekend saw a very special anniversary celebrated in the world of commercial aviation, with the third-oldest airline alliance on the planet marking 25 years in existence. The alliance in question is SkyTeam, which was formed in 2000 following the establishment of theStar Alliance in 1997 and oneworld in 1999. SkyTeam began life as an alliance of just four airlines, but has since grown a lot.
