Southwest Airlines Had To Rethink How Its Flights Are Catered After This Happened

This past summer, record-breaking heat waves across the Southwestern United States forced Southwest Airlines to deal with a rather bizarre safety hazard. The issue affected the airline’s key hubs in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Sacramento. It involved overheated canned beverages exploding at cruise altitude, bursting open, and spewing their contents everywhere. Throughout this period, more than 20 flight attendants received injuries, one of whom required stitches.
