Allegiant Air operated unlike almost any other airline in the United States for decades. Today, some carriers operate similar business models, but Allegiant Air’s unique business model has gone mostly unreplicated for the better part of thirty years. The carrier’s system of operating ultra-low-cost flights to destinations not served by competition from traditional players has worked for it for years, keeping the company in business and above water.
