Avelo’s first revenue-generating flight was more than four years ago, in April 2021. Since then, the ultra-low-cost carrier has not had red eyes, partly because it adds more crew and operational complexity compared to daytime services. However, that changes on June 12, the day of writing, when its first overnight flight takes off.
