Bombardier is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of private jets. The business segment was first formed in 1989 after Bombardier acquired Canadair, the developer of the Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ), in 1986. The company also acquired Learjet, Short Brothers, and de Havilland Canada to further develop its aviation-focused business segment. The company is responsible for developing several aviation projects, including the Bombardier C-Series, which was later sold to Airbus and became the Airbus A220 regional jet.
