In February 2024, a Lufthansa flight was operating from Frankfurt to Seville when the captain left the cockpit to use the bathroom and returned to find that the co-pilot had fainted. This has raised questions throughout the aviation industry as to why the co-pilot wasn’t noticed sooner, and what could be done to minimize the risk that this type of incident won’t occur again.
