While there have been several advancements in gaining access to Antarctica, it is still quite tricky logistically to travel to this continent. There are no scheduled commercial flights to the region, and flying there remains limited to mostly researchers and adventure seekers. And while decades ago, Antarctica could only be visited by ships, blue ice runways have made it possible for aircraft to land there, enhancing connectivity significantly.
