US legacy carrier Delta Air Lines has agreed to pay $330 million to acquire a 15% stake in WestJet. This marks the latest development in the Atlanta-based SkyTeam founding member’s ongoing partnership with Canada’s second-largest airline, which dates back more than 14 years to the start of 2011. Delta hopes that its stake in WestJet will benefit both the airlines and their customers in various markets.
