Eastern Europe’s commercial aviation industry differs significantly from that of most of the rest of Europe in a few key ways. The industry developed decades after that of the rest of Europe, mostly following the collapse of the Soviet Union. As a result, certain kinds of long-haul and short-haul carriers have strong differences from most other European carriers. One of the most noteworthy such carriers in Eastern Europe is the Moldova-based HiSky.
