Crash pads for pilots, flight attendants, and flight engineers are popular in the United States for catching some sleep before a duty. They are a lifeline for commuting crew or those whose base is not their home city, which is often the case for airline employees. Crash pads are very unique to the crew and can often be found by word of mouth or referral. Non-crew members cannot use them as they are specific to the needs of all flying crew members.
