In the May 1st Frontier Airlines earnings call, airline executives shared plans to return to profitability by capacity cuts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday through mid-November to reduce unprofitable flying. Frontier Airlines had a first-quarter 2025 net loss of $43 million, or $0.19 per share. However, Frontier Airlines was able to claim a record 107 available seat miles (ASMs) per gallon during the first quarter, showing leading fuel efficiency. Frontier Airlines also had improvement on revenue air seat miles – a statistic to be explained below – and continues to work to improve its balance sheet.
