The Airbus A320 family is the arch rival of the Boeing 737 series. The Boeing 737 first came into service in 1968, and the A320 followed 20 years later in 1988. Over the last 37 years, the A320 has undone the Boeing 737’s two-decade-long headstart and is poised to overtake the 737 in cumulative sales in 2025. There are already many more A320 family aircraft flying than the 737.
