The United Kingdom offers direct flights to six continents, with London Heathrow Airport being the most connected airport in the world. While the vast majority of British flights are nonstop, there are some one-stop flights. Some of these flights are long-haul routes to places where aircraft lack the range to fly in one go, like Sydney in Australia. Most are connecting close destinations where one destination lacks the demand needed to fill the aircraft.
