Despite extensive industry challenges, Chicago-based legacy carrier United Airlines announced on Wednesday that it was still expecting strong financial results this year, something which might come as a surprise given the consistent economic uncertainty that has rattled the industry in recent months. The Trump-imposed tariffs have set off a macroeconomic chain reaction that has placed the entire aviation industry in a rather weak position.
