On March 21, 2025, London Heathrow Airport received its first A380 Superjumbo from Frankfurt for the first time since the end of 2021. While both of these major European airports are top destinations and hubs for the Airbus A380, these aircraft have not flown between these cities for years. The route is a popular business route with many people regularly commuting, but this is typically not a job for the Superjumbo. It turns out that it took a pandemic and a power outage at Heathrow to get the double-decker to fly the route.
