Metro Tunnel promised more trains, more often but that is not what will be delivered

Victorians were told the $15bn Metro Tunnel would deliver turn-up-and-go trains, doing away with the need for a timetable — but months away from the grand opening, the leaked project map reveals the project won’t deliver its promises.

It has now been revealed only a small number of the planned 33 services we hour will actually be delivered raising concerns about the project and highlighting the move away from the approved business case and the financial benefits.

The downgrade of the system and the services is due to other changes required around the network to use the tunnel efficiently have not been delivered and are not planned to be delivered.

The new services will not provide the much needed capacity for the Craigieburn and Werribee lines already at crush load and dangerous to passengers.

Yet again this is another project under delivered by Transport Victoria who are again changing their name to avoid accountability.
