Fort Worth, Texas-based legacy carrier American Airlines has long operated one of the most dynamic hub-and-spoke networks on the planet, with hundreds of daily flights to destinations across the globe that transport thousands of passengers. Unlike budget airlines like Spirit Airlines or Frontier Airlines that mostly focus on operating point-to-point flights, American Airlines aims to connect passengers to as many destinations as possible by funneling them through massive hubs, a strategy also used by Delta Air Lines and United Airlines.
