While no Qantas services have been affected, six Jetstar flights on Friday morning were cancelled and two morning Virgin Australia services – to Brisbane and Melbourne – were pushed back to the afternoon due to potential impact from the ash cloud.
Justice Helen Rofe signed off on the settlement reached in May, which will see the Flying Kangaroo pay a pecuniary penalty of $100 million and compensate passengers up to $20 million in total.
The airline’s new safety video stands in contrast to one released by Qantas earlier this year, which was loaded with location shots but criticised for not having any scenes on an actual aircraft.
