The 767 went down in history as Boeing’s first twin-engine widebody design, following in the footsteps of the four-engine 747 and developed alongside the narrowbody 757. It first flew in September 1981, and entered service a year later with United Airlines. Today, well over four decades later, the type remains in service worldwide, and, incredibly, freighter versions of the twinjet remain in production.
