Still Going Strong: This Is American Airlines’ Oldest Flying Aircraft

American Airlines is the world’s largest airline in terms of the number of passengers carried and daily flights, and it is one of the largest in terms of fleet size. The airline operates a massive mainline fleet of 982 aircraft, comprising 856 narrowbody jets and 126 widebody aircraft. The carrier’s Airbus A320 family aircraft and the Boeing 777 aircraft are some of the oldest in its fleet. Data from ch-aviation shows that the oldest active aircraft in the American Airlines fleet is an Airbus A320-200 with an age of 27.3 years.
