The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced that it will equip the air traffic control systems of more than 70 airports across the country with the Runway Incursion Device—a technology designed to improve runway safety and prevent or reduce incursion incidents. The agency has taken several other steps recently, and the latest announcement is part of a larger airport safety enhancement initiative.
