The United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force operated dozens of different aircraft models during the Second World War, with some of the most famous being the Supermarine Spitfire air superiority fighter and the Avro Lancaster strategic bomber, which will forever live in history. However, not all aircraft of the conflict have the same aura surrounding their names.
