Motivated by the ceasefire between Israel and Palestine and the often-mentioned capacity gap to New York,Israir has applied to the US Department of Transportation for a foreign air carrier permit. This follows its late 2024 disclosure that it was keen to enter the market. While it has no widebody aircraft, its application suggests it would use leased Airbus A330 aircraft.
