Mongolia got a head start this week in its ambition to launch a national satellite with the launch of two domestically manufactured low earth orbit (LEO) nano satellites and a ‘sandbox’ to develop the local space industry.
The anticipated merger of Bayanat, an AI-powered geospatial solutions provider, and Yahsat, the UAE’s flagship satellite operator, is now close to completion.
LEO satellite operator Starlink has received a temporary permit to operate in Tonga in an apparent retreat by the government who had earlier banned the service outright as residents sought to cope with last month’s subsea cable outage.
