Viasat demos D2D satellite for connected vehicles in Brazil

PLDT’s wireless arm Smart Communications and direct-to-device (D2D) LEO satellite operator Lynk Global said on Wednesday they have successfully tested Lynk’s D2D network on the island of Catanduanes in the Philippines.

Hungarian company 4iG Space and Defence (4iG SDT) says it has signed a preliminary, non-binding commitment letter with US-based Axiom Space, a global leader in commercial spaceflight and low Earth orbit (LEO) infrastructure development.

It’s clearly been a busy week in Cape Town, where a number of deals have been announced at the Africa Tech/ AfricaCom event, including a strategic agreement between Vanu and Amazon’s Project Kuiper.
