ClaroVTR signs deal to boost fibre business

Chile’s ClaroVTR joint venture has signed a 15-year agreement with fibre optics company OnNet Fibra, which will allow the migration of the joint venture’s cable modem customers to fibre optics.

NTT Data, Sumitomo and JA Mitsui Leasing announced plans on Tuesday for a new subsea cable, dubbed Intra-Asia Marine Cable (I-AM Cable), that will connect Japan and South Korea to Malaysia and Singapore.
