Railport, Turkey’s first intermodal logistics terminal, has selected GullsEye as its Terminal Operating System (TOS) provider. The terminal, a joint venture between Arkas Holding and duisport, is set to begin operation in early 2025.
GullsEye’s TOS was chosen to manage and optimise Railport’s operations due to its ability to integrate rail and road transport and enhance operational efficiency. The system will ensure operational transparency, improve response times, and provide flexible reporting tools for stakeholders while delivering tailor-made solutions for Railport’s unique operational needs.
Railport as a driving force
With its state-of-the-art infrastructure and strategic location 150 km southeast of Istanbul, Railport is expected to provide Turkey with significant cost, efficiency, and sustainability advantages. The terminal is strategically located at the heart of the Iron Silk Road, a crucial corridor in global trade.
The construction of Railport began in September 2023 and has faced challenges due to the swampy terrain and high humidity in the area. The first phase of construction was recently completed, and the terminal is expected to be fully operational in early 2025.
