As a country, Belgium has long and close historical ties with Africa, and, correspondingly, its aviation history in the region also dates back a long way. In fact, February 12th will mark the 100th anniversary of the first flight from Belgium to Africa, with Brussels Airlines and Bpost joining forces to create a commemorative stamp to mark the occasion.
