Southwest Airlines’ NYC Decline Started Before The Pandemic

Southwest Airlines recently announced closing operations at multiple airports, including one in New York, due to slower demand, decreased revenue growth, and higher operating costs. Last year, the airline received less than 50% of the estimated number of new aircraft from Boeing. As the sole operator of the Boeing 737 type, it relies heavily on the continued supply of new aircraft.
