First entering service with the United States Air Force in the early 1970s, the Lockheed C-5M Super Galaxy remains the largest strategic airlifter operated by the United States military. Unlike smaller tactical airlifters like the C-130 Hercules, the C-5 is an absolute monster, with an impressive payload capacity beyond that of all its peers.
