Why The Role Of The Airline Purser Has Changed Dramatically In 20 Years

The term ‘purser’ came from the maritime industry and basically refers to an in-charge crew member. The term also depends on the airline’s terminology and what term is used in the region. For example, in the UK and Europe, Senior Cabin Crew Member (SCCM) is often used but could also be purser, Cabin Services Director (CSD), or Inflight Services Manager (ISM).
