This week’s crash of Jeju Air Flight 2216 has sparked many discussions surrounding the options pilots have in case of a landing gear failure. On December 29, 2024, a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 en route from Bangkok crashed on approach at Muan International Airport in South Korea. All but two occupants lost their lives in what appeared to be a landing gear malfunction event.
